We have a platform of effective collaboration in the region in additional needs, and hope to build upon the previous work of the East Midlands Regional Partnership. Local Authority hubs of effective practice in Special Educational Needs/Learning Difficulties & Disability were introduced as part of the 07/08 National Strategies SEN programme to disseminate best practice between LAs. In the 2007/8 programme, Derbyshire led on SEN data, and Nottinghamshire led on local authority support services for inclusion and SEN. We have much good practice to share in the East Midlands. LA hubs also support the interface between LAs and the DCSF in helping to meet the needs of children and young people with SEN. Feedback received from the LAs that participated was very positive with indications that the programme had already helped local development and practice. The 08/10 programme has been informed by that work and has been significantly developed. Key changes include:
